Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteering in numbers with a dedication to giving back and making a difference is the core of who we are as we take on the many challenges that face us.   We are  counting on your big heart and long-term vision when you get involved as a volunteer.  Volunteering is a Noble effort.  Check out these quick and easy ways to get involved.

• Sign up to be an Event Volunteer: help out at events and take part in service projects throughout the year 

• Sign up to be an Ambassador Volunteer: group of alumni volunteers who spread the word about the good work we do each day, using social media platforms.

• Sign up to be a Recruiter Volunteer: Help spread the word and share your Wolmer’s valuable experience with other Wolmerians and recruit them. 

.    Sign up to be a Hope of Beacon Volunteer: help to find jobs or internships for students in Jamaica or abroad.  

• Connect with organizations that  host students during track meets or just host a student studying abroad.  

• Sign up for the Alumni Speakers Nite: share your expertise or experiences with fellow alumni and students.  Quick 30-minute presentation.

• Sign up to be a Sponsor a New Student Event Volunteer:connect with an  orientation reception for incoming students and their families to make friends, build community, and help with any last-minute questions before they arrive at Wolmer’s.  

• Sign up to serve as an Advisory Committee Volunteers:  work with fellow alumni volunteers on initiatives that support the mission of the WAA-NYC

• Sign up to Mentor a Student:  connect via social media, etc. in mentoring a student, serving as a moral compass to the student’s environment.  (Parent approval required).

• Share your space for an event: have access to or own an event space or get discount that can be used for a gathering or alumni event? Share ideas and help us in planning an event.
